Are you living or working in a rural area of Antrim, Carrickfergus or Newtownabbey and interested in developing a new service for the community? Or are you developing a heritage project?
GROW South Antrim will open for applications under the Basic Services and Rural Heritage themes on Monday 15th August and will close at 4pm on Monday, 19th September.
Brian Duffin, Vice-Chair of the GROW South Antrim Local Action Group said, "GROW can offer grants to community organisations, not-for-profit groups and councils or for private businesses. For Basic Services, this might be to create access to basic services by expanding community space, or for Rural Heritage, to provide signage for heritage trails. Are you thinking of doing something that could benefit from Rural Development funding?
We are looking for:
- Heritage projects that will preserve our natural and built heritage to protect it for future generations and promote it for visitors;
- Basic Services projects which improve access to basic services for rural dwellers; for example:
- Capital projects such as building works or improving infrastructure;
- Research projects to identify the needs of rural communities;
- Projects which aim to develop action plans and
- Pilot projects which are innovative and deliver a basic service.
Does your project fit the bill? Then get in touch with us! We might be able to boost your project with the funding it needs to get off the ground."
GROW also has funding available under the themes of Rural Tourism, Farm Diversification, Business Creation & Development and the next call for applications under these themes will open from 5th September - 3rd October 2011. GROW is also currently open for applications under the implementation phase of Village Renewal, for projects identified through an integrated village plan, closing at 4pm on 5th September.
If you are a rural dweller, business owner, farmer or community group interested in finding out more on the Rural Development Programme, get in touch with the GROW office on 028 9448 1311
